The amazing Gaushala of Nathdwara

In my recent visit to Nathdwara (Rajasthan, India), I went to the Nathdwara Gaushala. This Gaushala has over 2000 cows of great character. Later on, I came to know that this is just one of the five Gaushalas of Nathdwara. It says enough of Shrinathji's love for Cows!
Nathdwara Gaushala

We reached in the evening around 5 p.m. which is the best time to visit this place. The whole experience of visiting this Gaushala was amazing. The smell of the cow dung all across the place, the sight of watching hundreds of cows flocking together and the spiritual experience of so many cows around you was just exhilarating. Here is a video which shows a bunch of cows getting together for their evening supper:

One of the main attractions of this Gaushala is the Kamdhenu cow which is considered most auspicious among cows. Passing under this cow is considered to bring positive energy and takes away all your bad karma. The most interesting thing about this cow was that she was standing still for more than 2 hrs, with  no significant movement! She was the ultimate demonstration of "being at peace". Here is the photo of the Kamdhenu cow:

After spending a couple of hours in the Gaushala, it was time to return back. We left with a feeling of eternal bliss and wonder!

Paying visit to this Gaushala is a must for every cow lover.
